About me
I’m originally from Alberta and did most of my schooling there before moving to Ontario in 2022! I grew up in a small community with limited mental health support and know how important access to support and acceptance can be. This is what inspired me to start my journey in mental health care.
I am an animal lover and have spent my life surrounded by furry and scaly friends! My cat, Goose, likes to (sometimes) join in on sessions which many people appreciate. Some might say that she provides the comedic relief for sessions.
Outside of the therapy space you can find me wandering around the ROM and AGO, grabbing (many) coffees from various coffee shops around Toronto, and reading!
My personal approach to therapy is rooted in authenticity. I’ve found that showing my human side as a therapist helps build a strong therapeutic relationship. I often lean into humour and genuine emotional expression.
If you’re looking for a therapist who uses their whole face to communicate, someone to laugh with you, and someone who has a relaxed approach then I might just be the right fit for you. I’m also here to hold space for the not-so-funny parts of life and I feel so honoured to be able to help clients navigate the painful, uncomfortable, tricky parts of being human.
My Style
As someone who helps people discover, change, and live by their values I think it’s important that I share some of mine.
Accessibility is something that I value deeply. The world we live in isn’t always accessible to neurodivergent folks or people living with chronic illness. My hope is to invite as much accessibility to the therapy space by using an online model and by having different appointment lengths to suit your needs.
I also approach life through the values of acceptance and compassion. I believe that each person is valuable for who they are. My aim is to provide therapy that is neuro-affirming, gender-affirming, and rooted in social justice.
